Climate & Seasons
Regional Climate
Weather in the Northern Range
If you had never been to the Mountains, you would be forgiven for thinking that the entire world was warm and humid. Up north, though, freezing temperature and biting winds are not uncommon, even excluding the perpetual storm above Mt. Renna.
Weather in the Salten Sea
The Salten Sea is typically slightly warmer and windier than the mainland. The winds can get particular extreme when sailing between islands, making navigating even short distances very difficult.
Seasons
A season is a temporary period of extreme weather.
When a season arrives, it will usually last at least a couple of weeks, though there are records of rainy seasons and winters that have lasted up to half a year. They often seem to appear out of nowhere, but they can sometimes be tracked slowly moving over the landscape.
Seasons can cover as little area as a small town or as much as an entire region. The edges of a season are often fairly abrupt, with normal weather transitioning to a rainy, winter, or blister season in just a few feet.
The most common seasons are rainy seasons, winter seasons, and blister seasons.
